Two new poems published

My poems "Chasing Light" and "Donetsk Revisited" have made their way into Tuck Magazine! Thank you to the editors! You can read them here.

  1. Congratulations, Darryl!
Is Donetsk Revisited German or Russian?
And my favorite line from Chasing Light is "That which sifted through our hands and hearts.." Beautifully written, both of them :)

  2. Why thank you, Wendy!

Very good guess: Donetsk is a major city in Eastern Ukraine. Russian is the dominant language in Eastern Ukraine (Ukrainian is the national language but spoken more often in the Western part of the country).

  3. I have never traveled outside the US. I looked up a Russian word/alphabet translator about a month ago, just out of curiosity. I read on one page it takes 10% longer to say something in Russian than in English. It's a good thing I'm not Russian. It takes me a long time to talk as it is, lol.

  4. I am discovering it is a challenging language. For me the challenge is combining consonants without a vowel!
